A Luxury Houston Smart Home Story:
In the spring of 2014 Digital Delight began installing a custom home automation system for one of their client’s in the west Houston area. This particular client’s home was a custom built and the technology that was installed was specific to the client's needs & desires.
“When reviewing the design plans for the installation, our client’s primary concern was simplicity, but we knew there was a wide range of technologies beyond just basic A/V that we had to think about managing. The initial design goal was to easily, efficiently and effectively distribute audio and video throughout the client’s home.” said JJ Canon, CEO of Digital Delight
So Digital Delight installed an RTI control solution that gives the home owner the ability to monitor & interact with their homes music, video, lighting, shades & video surveillance solution. With the latest technology integrated, this client can remotely access their home via their wireless devices from anywhere in the world. This is all made possible by using Digital Delight’s custom designed RTiPanel Application. This application wasn’t just designed for the homeowner to interact & monitor what’s going on inside the house; it’s also informative to the world outside by giving live local traffic & weather maps.
To accomplish all of this, the automation system is powered by an RTI XP-8s control processor. The XP-8s provides two-way communication with the home’s A/V and environmental components including a Lutron® lighting and shade. The homeowner can also remotely view their house anywhere in the world through the eyes of their 4 IC Realtime ICIP 1300ViR cameras that are also integrated into the RTiPanel Application.
When asked why RTI for home’s automation control system JJ Canon stated “We look to RTI because the company’s RTiPanel app allows us to give our client the flexibility and convenience to control and manage the home.” “With RTI’s automation processing power and audio distribution system solutions, we knew we had all the tools needed to provide the right solutions for the project.”
With most custom homes there is a natural WiFi signal loss if they are not using some kind of WiFi extender. In this custom home the client wanted to insure they had reliable WiFi and so Digital Delight installed several Ubiquiti Networks access points to give them maximum connectivity inside & outside of the house, anytime of the day or night. With all of these controllable devices this house also has a dedicated closet for the Middle Atlantic control rack built to house all of the cable boxes, NVR, Apple TV’s, Blu-ray, NuVo Media Player, Just Add Power™ video matrix switcher, and Onkyo receivers.
In August the home was completed & today the home owners are living a more simplified life thanks in part to Digital Delight’s home automation solution. Digital Delight has been providing the greater Houston area for over 15 years with the latest in audio/visual & home automation solutions.
